There won't be a Triple Crown winner this year and it looks like Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense will be absent, but Preakness winner and Derby third Curlin will again take on Derby runner-up and Preakness third Hard Spun. Several of the Derby horses skipped the Preakness to wait for the Belmont and there are some new shooters out there as well. Here is the latest list of horses planning to start in the Preakness. Expect changes as more decisions about going are made by trainers.
So far it looks like a small field, but this could change if Street Sense stays out. More info about the new contenders should be coming this week.
