North American Thoroughbred Society Congratulates 2007 Winners of Wellpride American Eventing Championships
Awards to Recognize Thoroughbreds in All Divisions at
2008 Wellpride American Eventing Championships

MADISON, NJ, March 11, 2008 – The North American Thoroughbred Society (NATBS), a company that promotes the interests of Jockey Club-registered North American Thoroughbreds, today congratulated the winners of its first annual Thoroughbred awards for horses and riders who competed at the 2007 Wellpride American Eventing Championships. NATBS also announced that it will sponsor Thoroughbred awards in all divisions at the 2008 Wellpride American Eventing Championships, which will be held in September.

Winners in 2007 are: AEC Prelim Horse: Jireh, ridden and owned by Becky Roper, 38.9; Absolüt IV, ridden and owned by Sally Phillips Buffington, 49.5. Training Horse: Sea Lion, ridden and owned by Pam Fisher, 37.9; Out To Sea, ridden and owned by Pam Fisher, 52.9. Novice Horse: Pegasus Pure Gold, ridden and owned by Anne Kaufman, 33.5. Novice Jr/YR: Riverkeeper, ridden and owned by Katelyn Detore, 32.6. Beginner Novice: Salt'n Pepe, ridden and owned by Lauren Mair, 34.0; Rocket Man, ridden and owned by Tracey Montgomery, 58.5. Prelim Amateur: Sprint Tech, ridden and owned by Jamie Marlewski, 53.9. Novice Amateur: St. George, ridden and owned by Deanna Hertrich, 36.1.

“This was the first year that NATBS sponsored awards for Thoroughbreds at the Wellpride event, and we were pleased with the level of participation,” said Anita Adamski, founder and chief executive officer of NATBS. “Thoroughbreds make extraordinary eventing partners, and each of the 2007 NATBS winners demonstrates the heart and talent it takes to be successful. Congratulations to our member horses and riders, and we look forward with pleasure to the 2008 championships.”

NATBS recognizes the achievements of Thoroughbreds, supports Thoroughbred breed classes, and fosters community for members for choosing Thoroughbreds as their valued sport and recreational horses. Award programs include the North American Series, Worldwide Trails Program, United States Dressage Federation All Breeds Awards, United States Eventing Association Wellpride American Eventing Championships, Dressage at Devon, Fair Hill Dressage Sport Horse Breeders, Kentucky Dressage Federation Breeder Classics, Ole South Dressage Classic, and Parkland Festival.
