Balsam Mountain Preserve Opens State of the Art Equestrian Facility

Balsam Mountain Preserve Opens State of the Art Equestrian Facility
Sylva, N.C - Balsam Mountain Preserve is proud to announce the grand opening of its state of the art equestrian facility. A 14-stall barn has been nestled in the 4,400 acre community with services for horses including:
boarding, riding lessons, horse training, and guided trail rides. Horses are welcome at Balsam from May to November and four club horses are available to members who do not own their own horse. With over 50 miles of scenic trails that hug mountain curves and climb up to elevations of 5,500 feet, Balsam Mountain Preserve is a haven for those who enjoy equestrian pursuits. For more information call 866-452-3456 or visit http://www.balsammountain.com.

The new equestrian center offers top-notch stables and other facilities, making Balsam Mountain the perfect place to ride and relax with friends and family. These amenities make it easy to roam through Balsam's vast preserve, and it won't be long before you understand why people around here believe that you haven't truly experienced the mountains until you've experienced them on horseback.

Since most of the trails follow old logging roads, they reach into the quiet depths of the forests and offer limitless opportunities for riders of all ages and experience levels to explore the peaks, views and majestic charms of the mountains.

"This is a pristine environment and we love to share it on horseback with those that can appreciate the equine athlete and the wonderful scenery,"
says Scott Huse DVM., the stables manager at Balsam Mountain Preserve

Balsam Mountain Preserve is a 4,400 acre community set high in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains near the towns of Sylva and Waynesville and only 40 minutes from Asheville. Developers Chaffin/Light Associates designed Balsam Mountain Preserve as a community within a park rather than a park within a community. With a total of 354 homes and 3,000 acres of the community protected by conservation easements, Chaffin/Light have created an authentic, organic, and rugged mountain community in a sought-after, natural environment. In June of 2007, Balsam Mountain Preserve will introduce an 18-hole Arnold Palmer signature golf course. This course is characterized by a multitude of wide-ranging mountain views from so many places throughout its tee boxes, greens and fairways that no other course in the region can rival. Other amenities include: The Ruby Valley Sports Camp, The Boarding House Lodge, a Nature Center, 38 miles of fishing streams and 50 miles of hiking trails. For more information visit the Balsam Mountain Preserve Website at http://www.balsammountain.com or call (866)452-3456.
