Deeridge Farm Has Solid Competition in Week Four of Winter Equestrian Festival

Wellington, FL - February 3, 2009 - Deeridge Farm, which is based in East Aurora, NY, and Wellington, FL, had a very good week of competition at the fourth week of the Winter Equestrian Festival.

Kimberly Jacobs of Boston, MA, started out well with her new hunter Artistic. The pair received two second place ribbons in the Adult Amateur 36-50 Hunters. It was a great beginning to the show season for the new pair, who have only been together since August. "He's so amazing," Jacobs said. "This horse is the ultimate gentleman. He's been there and done that, so I can really trust him. It was very exciting to do so well."

Jacobs trains with Geoff Teall and Kristin Mauks. "Geoff has a great eye for knowing how to pair horses and riders," she said.

Kim's husband Charlie had a good week as well. He and Pia had two clear rounds to finish sixth in the $15,000 SJHOF High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, and they were ninth in the $2,500 Power and Speed class. Their son Will has begun his showing career, and placed well in the Walk-Trot division with Tinker Toy. Charlie Jr. and Katie Jacobs piloted Aspen Spring and Farnley Romeo to ribbons in the Short Stirrup division.

Charlotte Jacobs and her mount Lawando had a very good showing. They place fifth in the $10,000 Low Junior Jumper Classic. Professional rider Ramiro Quintana had the ride on Lou Jacobs' Kachina, and they finished sixth in the $2,500 1.35m Jumper Time First Jump-off class.

Deeridge Farm will compete next at the fifth week of the Winter Equestrian Festival on February 7-11, 2009.
