Over 400 Guests Attend the EQUUS Benefit Luncheon & $25,000 Fairfield Grand Prix

WESTPORT, CT – June 28, 2006 – Over 400 guests attended The EQUUS Foundation Benefit Luncheon held in conjunction with the $25,000 Fairfield Grand Prix on Saturday, June 24, 2006, the culminating event of the Fairfield County Hunt Club June Benefit Horse Show in Westport, Connecticut.

Despite the rain, guests cheered on the winner, Shahrazad, owned by the Beyaert Farm, and David Tromp, who were victorious over a field of 17, including corporate sponsors the Callari Auto Group, Fairfield Equine Associates, Wachovia Securities, Monaco Government Tourist Office, Skyy Spirits, Swiss International Airlines, Bank of America, Hospital for Special Surgery, Newhouse Financial & Insurance Brokers, Balducci’s of Westport, Chopard, Conte’s Market & Grill, The Higgins Group, Barbara C. Manion, O.D., The Saxon Group, and Torys LLP.

“We are extremely grateful to the hundreds of individuals and organizations that donated to EQUUS in 2006”, said Lynn Coakley, President, The EQUUS Foundation, Inc., “In just three years, we have awarded over $350,000 in grants and have helped thousands of horses and people, and hope to award another $200,000 in 2006.”
