SHIRLEY, N.Y. – January 2006 – Luitpold Animal Health announces a new educational campaign created to help horse owners better understand the causes, effects and treatments of equine degenerative joint disease.
Horse owners can now view a new educational CD titled “Balanced joints. Sound horse.” available through their veterinarian or online. This state-of-the-art CD features 3-D animation, motion graphics and digital video to take viewers inside the joint to see how a “balanced” joint functions; how trauma can disrupt the natural cycle of “wear and repair” within the joint; and differences between the medical treatments approved by the FDA for treatment of joint disease.
The “Balanced joints. Sound horse.” educational campaign also includes a 16-page, illustrated brochure, which shows horse owners how healthy joints function, how trauma can lead to degenerative joint disease, and how the proper treatment can remove the causes of and treat the symptoms of degenerative joint disease.
