George Morris Horsemastership Training Session at PBIEC

WELLINGTON, Fla., Jan. 22--The George H. Morris Horsemastership Training Session hosted by Bates Saddles is taking place at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center this week.
The aim of the training sessions is to help create complete "horsemasters" and a pipeline of riders for future U.S. teams as a select group of top young American riders is led through training sessions by George Morris, Chef d'Equipe of the U.S. Equestrian Team. Support for the sessions has been provided by the U.S. Equestrian Federation, the US Hunter Jumper Association and the USET Foundation along with Bates Saddles,, Equestrian Sport Productions, LLC, the management company of PBIEC, Purina Mills, Practical Horseman and the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament. Designed to be a comprehensive training in horsemastership, the sessions include training by experts in a wide range of topics including course building, veterinary care, nutrition and confirmation. This is the second year that the sessions have been offered.
Top young riders have been selected to participate in the 2008 training sessions based on their rankings on the Bates Equitation Rankings List and performance. They are:
Kimberly McCormack, Clermont, N,J., Maria Schaub, Holmdel, N.J., Jennifer Waxman, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Carolyn Curcio, West Islip, N.Y., Tina Dilandri, La Jolla, Calif., Natalie Rae Medlock, Orange, Calif., Nikko Ritter, Geneva, Fla., Aurora Griffin, Westlake Village, Calif., Hillary Dobbs, Sussex, N.J., Charlie Jayne, Elgin, Ill. and Karl Cook, Woodside, Calif.
Many sessions are open to public auditors free, although a donation to the USET Foundation, earmarked "Show Jumping High Performance," is appreciated. No pre-registration is required to audit public sessions. The schedule is:
