Karen Healey Stables Wins Major Awards at Indio Desert Circuit

Indio, CA – March 17, 2006 – The riders of Karen Healey Stables finished the 2006 Indio Desert Circuit with their usual victory in equitation, but they also took home some very special awards.
The big winner of the week was Hannah Selleck of Thousand Oaks, CA. She won the Equitation 16-17 under saddle and was second in the CPHA Junior Medal, the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search class, and the overall Washington International Horse Show Equitation Classic.
For her success throughout the circuit in the equitation, as well as the junior jumpers, Selleck was given the Shallano Style of Riding Award.
Fellow equitation rider Veronica Tracy of San Juan Capistrano, CA, was given the Potcreek Meadows Farm Junior Sportsmanship Award.
Macy Grey, ridden by Lucy Davis and owned by Carlye Byron-Nelson, won the Antares Overall Circuit Championship in the Medium Pony Hunters and the Hillcrest Pot O’ Gold Trophy. Lucy Davis finished as reserve champion for the circuit in the Pony Equitation.
Torie Immel of Newport Beach, CA, took home the blue ribbon in the USEF Junior Medal class and the CPHA Junior Medal. Tiffany Weeda of San Juan Capistrano, CA, finished third in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search class. Holly Hansen won the Adult Limit Equitation over fences, while Karoline Sauls of Agoura Hills, CA, finished second in the Charles Owen Adult Medal.
In the $25,000 High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, two Karen Healey Stables riders finished in the top ten. Shelby Wakeman of Westlake, CA, and her horse Punker finished seventh, while Lauren Hester of San Juan Capistrano, CA, was eighth with Oxford.
It was another highly successful winter circuit and a great start to 2006 for Karen Healey Stables. The riders and horses will travel next to the Pebble Beach Spring Horse Show on March 28 through April 2 and to the Oaks Blenheim Spring Tournament from March 29 to April 2.
