National Horse Show looking for an Artist
Equestrian News Release
Wellington, Fl- April 20, 2005 - As one of the organizers of the National Horse Show, I would like to extend an invitation to all interested artists to submit entries for "Official Artist of the 122nd National Horse Show". Deadline July 1, 2005.
As a graduate of Parson's School of Design, graphic Artist Rollin McGrail honored the National Horse Show last year by becoming the first "Official Artist of the 121st National Horse Show". She recreated the traditional NHS poster in her own style and designed 4 original party invitations that were given out to exhibitors, horse owners, trainers and NHS officials. This year we are repeating the newly established tradition by choosing one artist to follow in Rollin's footsteps. The chosen artist will be expected to recreate the traditional image of the11"x 14" NHS poster in his or her style and media, then creating 4 original designs appropriate for each NHS party, including the black tie evening event "Jumping Under the Stars". All 5 original images will be donated to the NHS and auctioned off December 2, 2005 during "Jumping Under the Stars" with proceeds going to the 122nd National Horse Show, as a 501(c)3.
In exchange for being chosen as the "Official Artist of the 122nd National Horse Show", the artist will be compensated with the following: One 10 x 10 booth space on the "Hill" to display and sell their artwork from Nov 29-Dec 4, 2005, 2 invitations to each party including Friday night's black tie event "Jumping Under the Stars" December 2, 2005 as well as several articles and press releases generated from the well known Phelps Media Group. Note: No monetary compensation will be given to the artist.
All interested artists need to contact Elizabeth Hedley at Stadium Jumping either by phone (561) 793-5867 or eahedley@aol.com You will be expected to submit examples of your work by July 1, 2005 in the form of slides, photographs or emailing a pdf file
