Cocktails and Olympic Dreams: Have a U.S. Show Jumper Pour Your Drink

Wellington, FL – January 25, 2007 – Several Olympic show jumpers have signed up to change careers for an evening and will get behind the bar at the Wellington Golf & Country Club on February 19, 2007.
The evening, which is set to run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., will benefit the United States Equestrian Team Foundation. There will be a complimentary hors d’oeuvres buffet, drinks, and a disc jockey to keep everyone entertained all night long.
All attendees are encouraged to bring friends to support a good cause. In 2006, the USET Foundation awarded a grant of $2 million to the USEF for their High Performance programs, which helped the teams achieve the most successful World Equestrian Games in U.S. history. This year, the Foundation plans to match that figure, plus award an additional $125,000 to provide for the high performance athletes and support staff that will be traveling to the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in July.
In addition, on February 10, 2007, the USET Foundation will host a party to launch the organization’s quadrennial campaign and the 2007 fundraising season at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington.
The United States Equestrian Team Foundation supports the competition, training, coaching, travel and educational needs of America’s elite and developing international High Performance horses and athletes in partnership with the U.S. Equestrian Federation.

Wellington Golf & Country Club, a semi-private club that was built in 1985 and recently underwent renovations, features a 40,000-square foot clubhouse with a large workout area, an oversized swimming pool with four heaters, tennis courts, a restaurant/bar and driving range. The clubhouse also has two large rooms for weddings, anniversaries, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthdays and meetings.
