Palm Beach County Horseman’s Association Prepares for May Competition
Equestrian News Release
Wellington, FL - May 16, 2006 - The Palm Beach County Horseman’s Association (PBCHA), founded in 1968, is a local organization dedicated to the promotion of quality horsemanship, sportsmanship, and fair competition in the hunter and jumper disciplines.
The PBCHA is pleased to announce that the association’s next horse show will be held on May 20th and 21st at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, Florida.
The PBCHA holds eight two-day events between April and November and hosts more than 25 divisions, ranging from Walk Trot Hunter to Open Jumper at 4 feet. Division Sponsors for the May show include Geoff Teall and Montoga Inc., who sponsor the Low Hunter 2’6” division, Bainbridge Farms, who sponsors the Working Hunter 3’ and Jr./Adult Amateur Hunter 3’, and Wellington Show Stables, who supports the Short Stirrup Hunter 18.” Additional sponsors are Nuzzle Girl Perfume, who is a proud sponsor of the 13 and Under Equitation 2’3”, StableWoman Design, who contributes to the Adult Amateur Equitation 2’6”, Southern Cross Stables, sponsor of the Large Pony Hunter 2’6”, and the Victor Connor Financial Group, who supports the Jr./Adult Equitation 3’.
This year’s Board Members include: President and Interim Treasurer Ann Root, Vice President Victor Connor, Secretary Andy Silverthorne, Assistant Secretary Peggy Thorndyke, and Assistant Treasurer and Show Office Manager Betsy Mackenzie. Additional Board Members are: Brooke Lyn, Debbie Williams, Melanie Peterson, Carol LeMaster, Nancy Hugins, and Megan O’Dwyer.
PBCHA is excited to announce that Jessie Prado will be one of the hunter judges. Prado, who is from the Tampa, FL, area, has ridden with Nona Garson, Don Stewart, Bill Schaub and Scott Hofstetter. She was zone champion for Adult Hunters, reserve champion at Ocala HITS, and top in her region in the Marshall and Sterling for many years. Her Amateur horse, Baby Pics, was 8th in the nation and led the Nation in Confirmation Hunters.
Waddy Ousler will be in the judge’s booth as well. He is from the Orlando area and has won many Ocala HITS champions. His Medium Pony took Champion at the National Horse Show, and one of his students was Marshall & Sterling Champion at HITS.
The PBCHA looks forward to an exciting 2006 Season.
