Coatesville, PA-Iron Spring Farm's Dutch stallion Roemer was inducted into
the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Hall of Fame in December at the
USDF Annual Convention. The stallion, who excelled both as a grand prix
dressage horse and an important sport horse sire, joined a list of
luminaries that includes Sally Swift, Lowell Boomer and Keen. Roemer is the
first breeding stallion to be included in the Hall of Fame.

"This is a huge honor for Roemer," said Mary Alice Malone, owner of Iron
Spring Farm. "He was a really special horse in every way and it is exciting
to see him recognized." The powerful chestnut stallion had an impressive
sport horse career that included grand prix jumping and grand prix dressage.
Malone first spotted Roemer in Holland at the end of his jumping career. She
thought he would make an ideal dressage horse. "The first time I rode him he
offered a few steps of piaffe," she recalled. "Willingness was a trait that
not only made him fun to ride, but also was one of the best characteristics
that he passed on to his offspring."

Roemer's get excelled in all sport horse disciplines both in North America
and in Holland. He sired four approved sons, one licensed son, four
preferent mares, 111 star mares, 27 keur mares, 211 studbook mares and 75
premium foals. With his tremendous record, Roemer was awarded the coveted
"Preferent" title by the KWPN, the Royal Dutch Warmblood Studbook. Roemer is
by Pilatus out of a Cyrano mare.

A painting of Roemer captured by Terri Miller will hang in the Roemer
Library in Lexington, Kentucky. Founded in 1973, the United States Dressage
Federation is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to education,
the recognition of achievement, and the promotion of the sport of dressage.

For more than 30 years Iron Spring Farm has been importing and breeding high
quality sport horses selected specifically for the American market. Iron
Spring stands more than a dozen warmblood and Friesian stallions and offers
programs to help breeders produce, raise and market exceptional athletes of
their own. Visit http://www.ironspringfarm.com for complete information.
