Chris Stafford
Calven Borel rode the perfect race on the Breeders Cup Juvenile Champion, Street Sense, (Street Cry IRE–Bedazzle - Dixieland Band) owned and bred by Kentuckian James B. Tafel as he cruised along the rail from 19th place to win the 133rd Running of the Roses at Churchill Downs, KY, on May 5, 2007 by 2 ¼ lengths from Hard Spun. Curlin finished third of the 20 starters. It was the second Derby victory for former rodeo champion, Texan trainer, Carl Nafzger, who also saddled Unbridled in 1990.
