Students Raise Funds for “Be Our Guest” Program at 2006 Winter Equestrian Festival
Equestrian News Release
Written by Lydia Frey
The students of Carolyn's Tutoring Service came up with an idea to have a fundraiser.
The names of the students are Lydia Frey, Will Pasmore, Daisy Talbert, Ashley Mendoza, Melissa Shubert, Henry Ohrstrom and Peter Ohrstrom. The students operated a lemonade and cookie stand on Friday, February 10, 2006. The stand was located in front of the Winter Equestrian Festival horse show office. They sold lemonade and cookies for twenty-five cents. Some people gave more money than they were supposed to because they heard it was for a charity.
The representative for UlcerGard gave us towels, calendars, and fanny packs to sell for one dollar.
The school raised $239.87 for "Be Our Guest" program. This charity lets children come to the horse show for a day to learn about horses. It also provides school uniforms, school supplies, and other help for needy children in the area.
