Louisville, KY - December 8, 2006 – Capturing the thrills and splendor of the Kentucky Derby, Union Jack is pleased to offer seven unique collections of exquisite photos and lithographs. From nostalgic sepia tones to roses of velvety red, collect imagery from the nineteenth century to present day.
Illustrating the tradition, romance, and exhilaration of the Kentucky Derby, each of the seven Collector’s Series include six different images. From the cars to the crowd, the Historic Series offers sepia-toned images of early races, dating back to 1875. Also in rich sepia, the Starting Gate Series and the Entrance Series highlight the grand tradition of going to the Derby and the excitement and anticipation surrounding the first Saturday in May.
The Horses Series brings you onto the track, eye level with the horses and jockeys, and the colorful Artistic Series offers a beautifully contemporary, creative view of a day at the races.
For the champion in all of us, the Roses Series celebrates the Winner’s Circle with vivid images of roses adorning the track and its trimmings. The Hats Series portrays the colorful side of the Derby with photos of the many styles of ladies hats worn at the races.
Each Collector’s Series includes six unique prints and arrives in an attractive portfolio. A wonderful addition to the home or office as well as a gorgeous gift. Handsome, all-occasion notecards are also available in each of the series collections. The cards measure 5½ x 4¼ and come in packs of 18, with three cards of each of the six series photos.
A portion of the proceeds of each purchase supports the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides a humane retirement for racehorses at the end of their racing careers.
