West Coast Active Riders Organization Prepares Riders for Spruce Meadows Prix de Nations
Equestrian News Release
Wellington, FL - April 5, 2006 – With the trials for the West Coast Active Riders (WCAR) Spruce Meadows Prix de Nations program underway, the WCAR is pleased to congratulate the winning team from the Palms Classic Horse Show: Pam Buie, Erica Buie, Aurora Griffin, and Cathleen Calvert.
WCAR also wishes to congratulate the leading riders of the Palms Classic Horse Show
Grand Prix held on March 26, 2006: Mark Watring, Harley Brown, Helen Mc Naught, and Molly Talla, who had the only double clear round.
The Blenheim Oaks Spring Show held yet another tough grand prix under the lights on April 2nd, with only six of twenty-two competitors to come back in the jump-off. WCAR applauds Eddie Macken, Rory Hovell, Hap Hansen, Harley Brown, and Richard Spooner for their efforts in the jump-off, as well as John Pearce for his beautiful double clean ride and win aboard Archie Bunker, owned by Forest View Farms.
Scores for the first three WCAR Spruce Meadows Prix de Nations Trials are posted at http://www.westcoastactiveriders.com/Tours_Tales_Results.html. The final trial will be held at Show Park Ranch and Coast Horse Show on May 9-14, 2006.
To prepare athletes, the West Coast Active Riders organization is currently planning Day Clinics for riders interested in schooling their horses over natural obstacles and courses that will replicate ones at Spruce Meadows. “This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together in a team setting and prepare for Spruce Meadows,” commented Tammy Chipko, organizer of the WCAR Prix de Nations Program. “We strongly recommend that riders try to make at least one of the two schooling sessions. Dates and locations will be announced shortly.”
To add to the WCAR team spirit, WCAR is hosting a cook-off on Friday, April 14th at the Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic III. “This is going to be a lot of fun,” exclaimed Chipko. “Come hungry and be ready to bid on your favorite cook! More details will come by email flyer and will also be posted at the show.”
WCAR wishes to thank all of the sponsors that have helped with the “Wish List” for WCAR Spruce Meadows Prix de Nations Teams: Maplewood Inc., who provided saddle pads, Ariat and the Dotson Family, who sponsored hunts coats, Heritage Riding Gloves, and ThreadNeedle, who provided embroidery.
On Monday, May 1st, applications for the WCAR Summer European Tour are due. Application forms are available at http://www.westcoastactiveriders.com, via e-mail at info@equestrisol.com, or at the Oaks Blenheim Show Office on Wednesday, April 4th.
