5th Annual Roundup Cowboy Gathering

To help us celebrate our 5th Annual Roundup Cowboy Gathering being held September 14 – 15, 2007 our valued friend, mentor and advisor Red Steagall will return as host, and one of the most respected singer / songwriters of American Cowboy Music – Michael Martin Murphey – will join Red Steagall during the daytime on Saturday for a “Special Tribute to America’s Favorite Cowboy & Hollywood Legend” and will be the featured performer at our sensational Saturday Sundown Party as we celebrate our 5th Annual Roundup Cowboy Gathering. This two-day event focusing on the Western lifestyle and values of the American Cowboy will showcase Billy Mata & The Texas Tradition (one of the top Western Swing Bands in Texas), singer/songwriter/western novelist Mike Blakely and Mike Blakely Y Los Yahoos, and award-winning yodeler Jill Jones. Our great friend Buster McLaury will demonstrate how to start a yearling – the right way -- and also will be featured along with Red Steagall and “young” Stoney Jones at our Western Heritage Classic “Then & Now: Cowboys”. A $5,000 Chuckwagon Cookoff and action-packed Ranch Horse Match Races with cowboys and cowgirls vying for a $1,000 purse will bring plenty of excitement to Roundup 2007 along with fun activities for children of all ages including a Little Wrangler Rodeo, a cowboy breakfast, delicious chuckwagon food, Old West exhibits, plus an opportunity to meet western authors and have your book personally autographed.
