Ladies and Gentlemen’s Committees of the 122nd National Horse Show & Family Festival Attend Cocktail Meeting

Wellington, FL- November 10- The Ladies and Gentlemen’s Committees of the 122nd National Horse Show congregated for a meeting and cocktails on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at the Wellington Country Club. Orchestrated by NHS Spokesman Mason Phelps, the meeting addressed logistics pertaining to social functions and the responsibilities of committee members during the National Horse Show competition.

Mason Phelps spoke first during the meeting and reported on the overall schedule of events for the entire show, which included special events at the show and evening socials. Betty Jane Henry, Chairman of the Ladies Committee, addressed issues such as the traditional badges that committee members wear, new trophy engravings, and new trophies included in this year’s NHS awards. She reported that golf carts will make transportation easier this year at the show and that shirts in National Horse Show colors have been donated for the jump crew to wear during the competition. In addition, Henry addressed the different social functions that will take place and the role of committee members at these functions.

NHS President Gene Mische showed great appreciation for all of the committee members and informed everyone that the National Horse Show Association of America, Ltd. is looking forward to another successful year at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Center. He confirmed that Hurricane Wilma did not interfere with the show arrangements and that the future looks bright for Wellington to host this tradition annually.

Arlene Tuny Page commented on the beneficial addition of Dressage at the National Horse Show. Mason Phelps added that tables are still available in the Diamond Horse Shoe Club, which overlooks the Internationale Arena and hosts the “Jumping Under the Stars” Black Tie Gala on Friday, December 2, at 7:30 p.m.
