2007 Equine Experience Gallops Into History
Equestrian News Release
Equine Experience held in Paso Robles, California became history with a successful 2007 event!! Folks flocked into the Mid State Fairgrounds to view demonstrations, presentations, top trainers and clinicians plus horses representing breeds from 'A' to 'Z'.
Richard Winters pocketed the $10,000 prize money sponsored by Prudential, Hallmark Realty and CenCal Mortgage in the Extreme Equine Colt Starting. No easy task since he was competing against Craig Cameron AND Ken McNabb.
Mounted Shooting, a first time event at Equine Experience, proved to be a crowd pleaser as riders galloped around the arena with black power loaded pistols shooting balloons. Following a designated course, each rider demonstrated the abilities of early frontiersmen from the backs of full-speed ahead horses.
Over 125 vendors provided everything an equestrian could want from tie downs to boots, saddles to hats, western wear to books and in between. With wide aisles to wander down and through, shoppers had time to browse, visit friends and view displays. For those thinking of buying a trailer or horse, trailers of every size and type could be found at trailer displays on the grounds and for that horse -- the 4th Annual Select Sale offered top quality stock .
The Select Sale offered broodmares, roping, reining, trail horses, mules plus foals to start. Hit of the show and garnishing attention where ever she went on the fairgrounds or in the barns was Zebra Filly. This little seven month old Zebra was consigned by Michael Mastagni and sold in the sale ring for $9,200. Which goes to show buyers knew good stock when they saw them -- even if they were 'dressed' in striped pajamas.
High selling horse was a striking AQHA registered Palomino gelding consigned by Right Bit Quarter Horses. Bob Beechnor gave the final bid of $15,000 for Right Bit of King and hauled the 2002 gelding from the sale ring back home and into his barn.
Equine Experience 2008 is scheduled for April 4-6 and staff has began planning for next year. More events. More vendors. More horses. More attractions.
