Speed Stake Purse Increased to $10,000 at the 2007 Jumper Classic

South Hamilton, Massachusetts, May 2, 2007- The return of Mohegan Sun as sponsor for the Speed Stake at the Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic brings even more excitement to this spectacular sporting event where top horses and riders compete at top speeds over a show jumping course.

"Our riders love racing against the clock, but at this level, they have even more incentive," said Melissa Lovasco, president of the Jumper Classic. "Last year was the first for Mohegan Sun as our sponsor, and they increased the long-standing prize by twenty-five hundred dollars then. Now it's twice what it was before they joined us." Mohegan Sun has added a whole new dimension to their sponsorships, too, by participating in the event, which they have found to be "a unique and exciting venue for us," said Marc Provost Regional Marketing Manager. "This is a great sport and we're proud to be part of promoting it."

Located in Uncasville, Connecticut, Mohegan Sun is a premier destination with more than 300,000 square feet of casinos, including smoke-free areas, a 34-story, 1,200-room luxury hotel tower, a world-class spa by Elemis, shops, restaurants, entertainment in three different venues including a 10,000-seat arena, meeting and function space, a 10,000 square-foot indoor pool, a 3-story crystal mountain, and a 55-foot indoor waterfall. Mohegan Sun, owned by the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, opened in 1996. The company recently announced a $740 million expansion that will include a House of Blues Music Hall, featuring music from many different genres.

Mohegan Sun Casinos will have an exhibit near the action in the show jumping ring where last year's winner, Kent Farrington won not only the Mohegan Sun Speed Stake but also the Fidelity Investment Grand Prix. In the Speed Stake Farrington rode Woika around the course in 53.902 seconds followed closely by two other well-known top riders, Leslie Burr Howard and Darren Graziano. "It had everyone on the edge of their seats," says Lovasco. "Kent Farrington is such a celebrity among show jumping fans, that for him to win both the speed stake and the Grand Prix was a great thrill for the audience."

The Jumper Classic is celebrating its 18th year, with more sponsorships and prizes than ever before. Situated in South Hamilton on the beautiful Coldwell Banker Previews Grand Prix Field, this event draws thousands of spectators from all over New England and beyond who come to see the top show jumping riders and horses who are on the circuit today. The Jumper Classic is the only event of its kind in New England, featuring Olympic riders and riders who have led the way in the American Grand Prix Association, including Rider of the Year. Many of the athletes make the Jumper Classic an annual competition.

Fidelity Investments has sponsored the Grand Prix since 2000. The prize of $75,000 is hotly competed for by as many as 30 horses and riders or more.

"I am very proud of the quality and stature of our corporate sponsors," said Jeff Papows, Chairman of the Board for The Jumper Classic. "They reflect the emphasis on quality and excellence we apply to every facet of this great event each year. We are honored to have this caliber of sponsorship."

The Jumper Classic is a five-day event that offers a full spectrum of classes for show jumping competitors from Wednesday, September 5th through Sunday, September 9th, culminating in the Grand Prix and Speed Stake for the top riders.
