AAEP’s “Ask the Vet” Provides Answers from the Experts on Equine Healthcare

Topics in equine health that are timely and relevant to today’s horse owner will be featured this year as part of the American Association of Equine Practitioner’s “Ask the Vet” online discussion on its horse health Web site, http://www.aaep.org/horseowner. Each month an AAEP-member veterinarian answers questions submitted by horse owners pertaining to specific health issues.
The following topics and veterinarians are scheduled for “Ask the Vet” through October 2009:
-April: Colic – Dr. Jennifer Schleining, Ames, Iowa
-May: Traveling with Your Horse – Dr. John Poe, Midway, Ky.
-June: Pre-purchase Exam – Dr. Silvia do Valle, Clarcona, Fla.
-July: Lameness Diagnostic and Treatment – Dr. Omar Maher, Dover, N.H.
-August: Equine Insurance – Dr. Nat Messer, Columbia, Mo.
-September: Gastric Ulcers – Dr. Doug Thal, Santa Fe, N.M.
-October: Surgical Treatment for Upper Airway, Reproduction, Bone or Muscular Diseases – Dr. Justin Harper, Boerne, Texas
