Absorbine(R) Celebrates 115 Years in Grand Style at Equine Affaire

East Longmeadow, MA (November 16, 2007)--W.F. Young, Inc., the makers of Absorbine(R) products, celebrated 115 years as a family-owned and operated company on Friday, November 9, during the Equine Affaire in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Staff, media representatives and special guests, including Miss Rodeo America 2007, Ashley Andrews, and members of the Miss Rodeo America, Inc. organization gathered at the Carriage House at Storrowton Tavern to join the Young family in their celebration of longevity and continued success.

"We strive to be the horse industry’s most trusted brand name," said Tyler F. Young, President and CEO of W.F. Young, Inc. "After five generations of Young family leadership, we remain committed to our mission of quality horse care products, and we look forward to the next 100 years."

The party, with a "Down Memory Lane" theme, offered an evening of tradition, history and remembrance. Decorated in photos and posters, including a commemorative anniversary poster designed by Jamie Young from an original piece of art by Amy Johnquest, the room showcased a timeless tribute to Absorbine products and five generations of the Young family. An assortment of music from throughout the decades serenaded guests as they enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and archival photographs and memorabilia illustrating highlights of the company and the Young family. Attendees took home a complimentary gift bag featuring Absorbine and Absorbine Jr.(R) product samples, as well as a t-shirt that featured the anniversary poster artwork imprinted on the back.

What began with a simple liniment recipe - the company’s flagship Absorbine Veterinary Liniment - and a $500 loan, eventually grew into one of the industry’s most well known and respected marketers of horse care products in the world. Over the last century, W.F. Young, Inc. has branched out with their Absorbine products into many segments of the horse industry, including fly control, grooming, supplements, leather care, hoof care and muscle care. In addition, they became a household name with Absorbine Jr.(R) – an external analgesic and antiseptic specifically formulated for human use.

"We are excited as a family to carry on the time-tested tradition and excellence of Absorbine," said Young. "As we look to the future, we will continue to build our brand to provide a healthy lifestyle for families and their pets. We will strive for innovation and growth, but we will never forget the foundation that propelled us through the first 115 years."

Marketed by W.F. Young, Inc., Absorbine products are available nationwide and internationally in tack shops, farm supply stores, and catalogs. Founded in 1892, W.F. Young, Inc. is celebrating 115 years of producing quality health care products for the equine industry. From their headquarters in East Longmeadow, MA, the company is committed to extending this heritage into the new century.
