Adult Hunter 51 and Older
Equestrian News Release
WELLINGTON, Fla., Jan 25--The Grand Hunter ring set a picture perfect scene Friday to finish the Adult Hunter 51 and Older Section A division at the CN Winter Equestrian Festival presented by Zimmerman Advertising at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.
The first course was gracefully won by Sandra Epstein from Pawling, N.Y. riding Smart Assets and training with Lyman T Whitehead out of Redding, Conn. Sandra and the eight-year-old chestnut, Dutch Warmblood gelding finished with a score of 85.
"He jumped beautifully, he was very relaxed today," Sandra said. "I'm so proud of him because he is still a Pre Green and I've only owned him for 5 months."
The blue ribbon winner of the second trip, that also came home with Grand Champion and Reserve on both of her mounts, was Kelly Klein from New York riding with Charlie Weaver of Sagaponack, N.Y.
Cozzi, her 10-year-old bay gelding, finished in the blue in the second trip with a score of 86 and took home the Grand Champion.
"This was his first time in the ring for quite some time so I was not sure what to expect and I haven't shown since September so I was a little rusty but it went great," Kelly said.
Reserve Champion ribbon was awarded to her second mount, Oz, the 10-year-old old chestnut gelding. "He is so easy and wonderful, he always goes perfect," said Kelly of Oz.
