EquiFit, Inc. Announces Launch of New Silver-Based Products for Equines

Boston, MA – January 11, 2007 – EquiFit, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of their new line of silver-based products for equines, which include the AgSilver CleanBalm, CleanGel, CleanTalc and CleanWash. These products incorporate the same silver ion technology currently available in their SilverClene24 spray, which offers a non-toxic way to kill viruses, fungi and bacteria.

The AgSilver Clean products utilize silver ion technology produced by AgION, which has been proven to be a powerful antimicrobial agent. In addition to unique chemistry, they offer a variety of different applications. This versatile organic biocide is effective, safe, has EPA registration and a FDA listing. All of the AgSilver Clean products offered by EquiFit, Inc. are non-toxic and free of chemical detergents, synthetic fragrances and colors.

EquiFit, Inc. has harnessed this technology to make four different products for use on horses. They can be used individually or in combination, depending upon the specific application. One of the most ingenious new products is AgSilver CleanGel, which is a thermoplastic elastomer sheet, impregnated with the ionic silver additive. The therapeutic wrap can be used for the treatment of viral, bacterial and fungal infections of wounds, cuts or nicks. CleanGel can be applied directly to the wound for periodic therapy or as an overnight dressing for existing infections. The salt and moisture on the animal’s skin activates the release of the silver ions, while the mineral oil acts as an emollient against dry skin .

AgSilver CleanBalm is a petroleum-based ointment for use on shallow cuts, nicks, rubs or abscess drains to control and reduce bacterial, fungal and viral infestation. It is available in 4 oz. or 1 oz. tins and contains pure petrolatum and microcrystalline wax with the consistency of a lip balm.

AgSilver CleanTalc combines the same silver technology in a powder form. Made with medical-grade talc and the silver additive, it can be used directly on the skin, on manes or tails, or on saddle pads, boots and wraps to control odor and kill infectious organisms. It is especially useful in controlling fungal skin conditions. Unlike most talc-base products currently available, CleanTalc contains no added fragrances.

The fourth new product is AgSilver CleanWash, a shampoo that controls fungal and bacterial infections of the skin. It can be used on infected areas or as a preventative against possible infestation of microorganisms and other parasites.
