Good Company And Jennifer Alfano Of SBS Farms Capture Championship At Ocala Winter Classic

Ocala, FL- February 9, 2006- The HITS I - Ocala Winter Classic proved to be a fine opening for SBS Farms, Inc. as their horses captured two championships and one reserve championship in the opening two days of the five weeks of rated shows.
Good Company and Jennifer Alfano of Buffalo, New York brought home the championship in the High Pre-Green Hunter division. The pair grabbed two blue ribbons and a fourth over fences and a third under saddle to capture the tricolor. SBS Farms purchased Good Company at Ocala last year. “I just love this horse! He’s really, really fun,” said Alfano. She added, “I always look forward to riding him. We’ve brought him along slowly. Now he’s easy. He’s dead quiet.”
In the Regular Working Hunter division, GG Valentine and Jennifer Alfano, for owner Barbara Kearney of Placerville, Colorado, received reserve champion honors by taking two firsts, a second, and a fourth over fences and a seventh under saddle. Ms. Alfano said with a smile, “She’s always perfect. I just have to stay out of her way.”
The Baby Green Hunter division championship is in the hands of owner Helen Lenehan of Buffalo, New York after Jennifer Alfano guided her horse Violets are Blue to some great ribbons in this huge class. The ribbons included a first and second over fences and a second under saddle.
Breitling, owned by Jennifer Berger of Buffalo, New York, was shown by Jennifer Alfano in the First Year Green Hunter division and the Green Conformation Hunter division. In the First Year Green classes, Breitling received two firsts over fences and a first under saddle. In the Green Conformation division, he took a first in the highly competitive model class, a third, two fourths, and a sixth over fences and a second under saddle.
Churchill, owned by Merideth Bartolone and ridden by Jennifer Alfano in the Second Year Green Hunter division, nabbed a second, a fourth, and a fifth over fences and a fifth in the hack.
Rock Star, also owned by Jennifer Berger and ridden by Alfano, showed in the First Year Green Hunter division. Rock Star finished with three second place ribbons.
Mick O Angelo took second place in the Level 4 Jumpers under the guiding hand of young Kacey McCann of Palmyra, Pennsylvania. Mick O Angelo is owned by the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center of Buffalo, New York.
SBS Farm riders will continue to compete this week at the HITS Ocala Winter Classic show in Ocala, Florida and will compete next week in the Ocala Winter Festival.
