Alfano Scores Two Tricolors in Second Week at HITS Ocala Winter Circuit

Ocala, FL - February 16, 2009 - Jennifer Alfano of SBS Farms had a successful week at the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit this week, winning two reserve championships. Alfano is the trainer and rider for SBS Farms Inc., which is led by Susie Schoellkopf and based at the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center in Buffalo, NY.

Alfano rode The Specialist, owned by Meredith Lipke Bartolone, to the reserve championship in the Second Year Green Hunters. The Specialist won a first place ribbon, three seconds, and one fourth.

Alfano also rode South Beach, owned by Bright Star 158, LLC, to the reserve championship in the Cismont Manor Green/Regular Conformation Hunter division. South Beach placed second in the model class and was first, second, and fourth in the other division classes.

In the First Year Green Hunters, Alfano rode two horses to top ribbons. She placed second with Helen Lenahan's horse Extraordinary and she rode Bright Star 158, LLC's horse Kid Rock to a second place finish as well.

Other results for Alfano include second and fourth place ribbons in the Pre-Green Hunters with Rock Zarr, owned by Jenn Bowery and Wendy Schmid.

Madison Brayman rode Trueman, owned by BTRC, in the Equitation 12-13 division this week. The pair finished sixth in one class, and second in two others. Trueman is a horse that "does everything," Alfano said. "Madison is leasing him and he can do a little of everything, which is great for her. Madison is a really hard worker. She takes care of her own horse and is always back at the barn to help us."

In the same division, Kaley Kawi rode the BTRC's Wasabi to sixth and eighth place ribbons. The pair was also third over fences in the Novice Equitation division and fifth under saddle. Kawi has ridden at SBS Farms for a year, and this is her first time competing in Florida. "She had a very nice week of competition," Alfano noted.

Sara Rimmler rode Blue Ridge Sunset to first and fifth places in the Large Schooling Pony Hunter division. Blue Ridge Sunset is owned by Harper Hills, LLC. Rimmler, an 11-year-old from Buffalo, has stepped up a level in competition this year. Alfano pointed out, "Sara is doing really well and learning a lot. She has a very nice pony too!"

SBS Farms, Inc. will compete next at the third week of the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit on February 18-22, 2009.
