Ali Ohringer wins the Central Equine Junior Medal during the Marshall & Sterling League West Coast Regional Finals

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (November 26, 2008)--It all started almost 10 years ago with a post card that Ali Ohringer received in the mail to attend the Elvenstar riding academy in Orange County, California.

"I took my very first lesson eight years ago after receiving the postcard and have been at the barn every day since," said Ohringer. "When I started I never thought I would be able to jump. Now I am jumping 3'6."

The tenth grader at Westlake High School added another notch to her impressive resume in the show ring when she captured the blue in the Central Equine Junior Medal during the Marshall & Sterling League West Coast Regional Finals at the Los Angeles National Horse Show that took place November 12-16 at the LA Equestrian Center.

Ohringer trains under the watchful eye of one of the most well-respected trainers on the West Coast, Jim Hagman, at Elvenstar's equestrian facility in Southern California.

"It was my second week at the horse show and it was a really great experience. My horse Orlando is such a good boy. He is so honest and friendly and I love him so much," said Ohringer.

This winter Ohringer is planning on competing at HITS Thermal but in the meantime, she will be at Elvenstar every day with the hopes of bringing back even more ribbons.

"I am absolutely looking forward to going to Thermal this year," said Ohringer. "I hope that I get to show in the Indoor Arena this year."

One of the most popular divisions at the Marshall & Sterling League West Coast Regional Finals was the Children's Medal that featured 23 entries. Kylee Arbuckle came out on top of the highly-contested class grabbing the blue. She also won the Marshall & Sterling Children's Hunter Finals aboard her mount Worth the Wait to complete a great week of showing.
