Alise Oken Garners Large Junior 16-17 Hunter Championship and Reserve Championship Tricolors

Lexington, KY- June 18, 2009 - Hi Hopes Farm had an excellent weekend competing at the Country Heir Horse Show II, held June 10-14 at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park. Alise Oken, daughter of Marc and Celene Oken, competed in the Large Junior 16-17 Hunter division and earned both the championship and reserve championship awards. Top trainers Steve Heinecke and Jeff Wirthman are the instructors at Hi Hopes Farm, owned by the Okens and based in Charlotte, NC.

Oken garnered the championship aboard Quintin during the Large Junior 16-17 Hunter division and was awarded the reserve championship prize for her ride aboard Southern Style. Oken and Quintin won two of the over fences classes and placed second in the final over fences class, while she and Southern Style placed first in the handy and the under saddle and earned the third place ribbon in the final over fences class. Oken was able to outrank twenty other entries with her top two mounts.

"Alise rode great this weekend; she had her game eye on," noted trainer Steve Heinecke. "Quintin has really stepped up since Devon. He's a wonderful horse, and it's great to see him showing his potential to be the nice Junior Hunter we always thought he could be."

Madison Maners, who also competes with Hi Hopes Farm, earned the championship award with her pony Cortina in the Medium Pony Hunter division. The duo won first place over fences and under saddle. They also placed second in the final over fences class and fourth in the conformation class.

Maners then competed in the Pony Hunter Classic, which she dominated with Cortina, and her small pony, Hi Lite. Maners and Cortina placed first in the class, and she followed with the second place award aboard Hi Lite.

Hi Hopes Farm will compete next at the Lake Placid Horse Show, held June 23-28, and the I Love New York Horse Show, held from June 30-July 5 in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.
