FORT WORTH, Texas—The American Paint Horse Association’s (APHA’s) Annual Convention and Membership Meeting concluded recently in San Antonio, Texas, where about 100 leaders of the association met to elect the group’s executive committee, decide on rule change proposals and work within committees to continue to advance the popular horse breed organization.

APHA’s newly elected executive committee now includes:

President Richard Cox, Knightstown, Ind.

President-elect Carl Thurow, Wichita, Kan.

Vice President John Corbin, Colorado Springs, Color.

Senior Committee Member Linda Vance, Winlock, Wash.

Fifth Committee Member Dr. Travis Titlow, Lincoln, Calif.

Immediate Past President Carl Parker, Marriott-Slaterville, Utah

The APHA executive committee will help lead the 100,000-member horse breed organization for the upcoming year.

In other action, APHA directors voted on legislation that specifically addressed the issue of registering cloned horses. Directors decided that horses produced by any cloning process will not eligible for APHA registration. For a complete list of approved rule changes, visit http://www.apha.com/forms/rulebooks.html.

Also during the convention, APHA took time to recognize several of its exemplary regional clubs. Select clubs were awarded “Gold Star” and “Clubs of Distinction” status.
