AMHA Stallion Service Auction a Success!

The annual convention of the American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA)

was a resounding success. More than 300 Morgan enthusiasts enjoyed

this week-long event held in Lexington, Kentucky, February 15-18. The

week was filled with exciting demonstrations and interesting seminars

as well as the AMHA Board of Directors quarterly meeting.

The annual stallion service auction, which had more than 70

stallions, brought in nearly $140,000, which will be split between

the Association’s ten regional shows, the World Morgan Futurity, and

marketing for the Morgan breed.

Taking the top bid was multi world champion Stonecroft Trilogy, owned

by Stonecroft Farm and purchased by Cedar Meadow Morgan Farm for

$5,700. The second highest bid was Mizrahi, owned by PlayMor Farm and

purchased by Sandra Nelson for $5,600. Another world champion, And

The Beat Goes On, owned by Dragonsmeade Farm, was the third-highest

bid and was purchased by Daniel Peachey for $5,050. Offspring of

these stallions will be eligible for added jackpots at the 2006 Grand

National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show in Oklahoma City,

October 7-14.

Founded in 1909, the American Morgan Horse Association is a non-

profit organization serving more than 50,000 Morgan horse owners,

breeders, exhibitors, and enthusiasts throughout the United States.

AMHA serves as a parent organization to more than 90 recognized

Morgan horse clubs and national service organizations. It also

provides an important link to foreign Morgan horse registries and clubs.
