Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue Competes in $1 Million Makeover Contest

Glenville, PA -- Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue, is counting on supporters to help them win a $1 million makeover as part of the online Zootoo.com Makeover. Angel Acres, in Glenville, Pa. just over the MD. line is currently competing with over 1000 shelters most of whom work strictly with dogs and cats across the U.S.

Supporters log on and select their favorite charity accumulating points for that charity when they post journal entries, review products, comment on news articles as well as selecting photos in the Pet Wars competitions. The points accumulate daily and on March 13 the Zootoo team will be traveling to the top 20 shelters. At the April 6th HSUS meeting in Las Vegas the Zootoo team will then narrow down the choices to 10 and then the public will vote to determine the grand prize winner. Runner up cash prizes will also be awarded.

Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue saves slaughter bound thoroughbred horses and finds them forever loving homes so that they may start a 2nd career after their racing days have ended. The rescue, while small, is appealing to folks who can help them to gain more points in the Zootoo contest. “Our farm is in dire need of a makeover. It would make such a huge difference in the numbers of horses we can save,” says Jo Deibel Founder and Director. Most of the dog and cat shelters have a lot more supporters than Angel Acres which makes it especially difficult for the rescue to compete. Currently though Angel Acres is holding onto the 7th place position in the country. Deibel is appealing to folks to help the rescue keep up the momentum as the contest goes into the last 38 days.

Deibel says that Angel Acres needs more supporters to help gain points. “ It takes maybe 10 minutes a day, ” Deibel commented. “After all what is 10 minutes a day when you have $1 million dollars at stake for the horses?”
