Equestrian News Release
Wellington, FL- July 21- The Board of Directors for the 122nd Annual National Horse Show and Family Festival are pleased to announce that this year’s competition will be held at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, FL, on November 29 to December 4, 2005. It will feature performances from the hunter, jumper, equitation, and dressage disciplines.
The main attractions of the show include the National Horse Show Grand Prix CSI-W, presented by Chesapeake Petroleum and Lexus on Friday evening, and the Budweiser AGA Championship, presented by Chesapeake Petroleum, on Sunday afternoon.
The 122nd National Horse Show and Family Festival will host the 2005 Young Jumper Championships. The horse show will also bring the top hunters in the nation together. Hunters compete throughout the year for points toward qualifying for the National Horse Show (NHS). Dressage and side saddle classes will also be included at the NHS.
In addition to exciting competition, the NHS will feature magical exhibitions, featuring Shaana Pritchard and the Frieze Frame Friesians, a freestyle dressage team of sixteen beautiful black Friesian stallions. The team drew huge crowds last year by performing quadrille tests in costume. There will be a Children’s Fair held on Saturday and Sunday, December 3-4, that will offer face painting and fun games, among other things.
“The Horse: In & Out” art exhibition will be open to all spectators from Tuesday thru Sunday. Both the Children’s Fair and the art show are held in conjunction with the horse show and are included in the ticket price. Before all major events at the show, the NHS is proud to present a national anthem singer that will be presented by the Cultural Trust of the Palm Beaches.
The Diamond Horseshoe Club will be available once again for those interested in ringside tables at the Internationale Arena. Front row tables are $5,000 and second row tables are $3,500 for the entire horse show and include seats for the “Jumping Under the Stars” black tie gala on Friday evening. The excellent menu will once again be provided by Ken Rose Catering.
Equestrian supporters Katharine and Mark Bellissimo will host a cocktail party by invitation only at their beautiful home in Palm Beach Polo. It will be one of many social events that are the hallmark of the National Horse Show. The highlight of the social events is the black tie gala, “Jumping Under the Stars,” which will be chaired by Mason Phelps, Jr.
The Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Committees will be back in action during the week of the National Horse Show. The Chairman of the Gentlemen’s Committee is Jim Corbin, and the Chairwoman of the Ladies’ Committee is Betty Jane Henry.
