2008 APHA Fall Championship Show Announced

APHA is proud to announce the addition of a world-class fall specialty show for American Paint Horses. The Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, will be home to the November 6–15, 2008 show.

APHA’s newest show will feature breeders' futurities, new added-money and jackpot classes, slot classes (keep reading for more details below), select Challenge and Sweepstakes classes and World Championship title classes for weanling and yearling halter, yearling longe line and 2-year-old performance horses. The new format will allow a longer period of time for young horses to mature in order to compete on a world-class level.

A select championship sale will also be held in conjunction with the Fall Show.

Classes moving from the World Show to the Fall Championship Show:

Open & Amateur World Championship classes for weanling halter horses, yearling halter and performance horses, 2-year-old performance horses and the 3-year-old Challenge classes (Western pleasure, hunter under saddle and reining).

Slot Classes

Slot Classes to Be Offered at the APHA Fall Championship Show:

Available slots will be open to the membership until April 15 for the following classes:

Existing Slot classes:

Yearling Longe Line Slot – estimated $45,000 payout

Yearling Mares Slot – estimated $75,000 payout

Yearling Stallions Slot (split) – estimated $75,000 payout

Yearling Geldings Slot (split) – estimated $75,000 payout

3 & 4-Year-Old Novice Horse Western Pleasure Slot – estimated $75,000 payout

3 & 4-Year-Old Novice Horse Hunter Under Saddle Slot – estimated $75,000 payout

Slots must be renewed by March 15, 2008.

New Slot Classes Introduced:

Weanling Mares Slot – estimated $45,000 payout

Weanling Stallions & Geldings Slot – estimated $45,000 payout

2-Year-Old Novice Horse Western Pleasure Slot – estimated $45,000 payout

2-Year-Old Novice Horse Hunter Under Saddle Slot – estimated $45,000 payout

All slot classes will be held prior to the corresponding World Championship class(es) during this show.

New Slots: Current slot owners have the first option to purchase slots in the new 2008 slot classes.

After receiving previous slot owner renewals and new purchases, remaining available slots in all classes will be open to membership until April 15, 2008.

A maximum of 30 slots per class will be available. If demand exceeds supply, new slot applications will be drawn lottery style. All renewals are guaranteed.
