APHA Offers Valuable Incentives at National Snaffle Bit Association World Championship Show

FORT WORTH, Texas—Do you have a top-quality 3-year-old Paint Horse that excels in hunter under saddle or Western pleasure? If so, the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) is offering a way to earn extra cash in 2007 while competing in the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) World Championship Show.

APHA recently renewed its alliance with NSBA and reformatted the Paint Preferred incentive program. As a result, APHA will offer up to $120,000 annually to Paint Horses competing in select competitions with its alliance partners.

The changes to the Paint Preferred program mean APHA will payout additional percentages of the NSBA purses in the Three-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure and Three-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle world show classes at the NSBA World Championship Show in Tulsa, Okla. The Paint Preferred money will be paid to Paint Horse owners whose horses place in the top three of the respective futurity. The APHA payout amounts will depend on the NSBA World Championship Show purse. Based on the NSBA futurity’s 2006 purse, an additional $1,500 could be paid out by APHA.

“The new format of the Paint Preferred program gives Paint Horse owners the incentive to campaign their Paint Horses at prestigious competitions and earn extra money from APHA, in addition to the purses offered by our affiliates,” said APHA Paint Programs Coordinator Jessica McDaniel. “We are excited about the changes to the program and the opportunities it brings to Paint Horse owners.”

The Paint Preferred program is open to 3-year-old Regular Registry and Solid Paint-Bred Paint Horses. Owners must be APHA members in good standing in order to receive payouts.
