Join the ApHC on the Land of Liberty Trail Ride

CLARION, Pa.—Summer is just around the corner, and now is the time to plan a great vacation. If a relaxing trail ride in woodland forest with a little adventure along the way sounds like the ideal getaway, then reserve a spot on the Appaloosa Horse Club’s (ApHC’s) Land of Liberty Trail Ride in northwestern Pennsylvania, June 14-20.

The Land of Liberty Trail Ride’s base camp format provides the adventure of a different trail each day and offers entertainment each night. All breeds are welcome, though all participants must be ApHC members. Ride rates for adults are $335 and $275 for youth, ages 10 to 18 years. All meals are included, but be sure to bring feed for your horses. Applications for the Land of Liberty Trail Ride are due May 4.

Trail riders can look forward to the hospitality of Cook Forest Scenic Trail Rides where cabins are available as well as a primitive campground with running water, showers and restrooms. To make lodging reservations, contact Ray and Terrie Smith at (814) 856-2081 or visit http://www.patrailride.com.

To join the ApHC or obtain an application for ApHC’s Land of Liberty Trail Ride, visit http://www.appaloosa.com or call the ApHC Trail & Distance Department at (208) 882-5578 ext. 221.

The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) was established in 1938, with a mission of preserving, promoting and enhancing the Appaloosa breed. The ApHC has since registered more than 670,000 Appaloosas, which are known for their distinctive color, intelligence and even temperament. True to their reputation as an extremely versatile breed, Appaloosas can be found in nearly every discipline including racing, endurance riding and serving as reliable family horses. The international breed registry is headquartered in Moscow, Idaho, the heart of the Palouse region—the Appaloosa breed’s namesake and point of origin.
