Appaloosa Horse Club Land of Liberty Family Trail Ride - Fun for the whole family

Moscow, Idaho - Mark your calendars for June 11-17, 2006, and book your next family vacation with the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC)'s Land of Liberty Family Trail Ride. Open to all breeds, the ride takes participants into the pristine Allegheny National Forest near Clarion, Pennsylvania, and will offer family-centered activities including hearty barbeques, cowboy poetry, and nights of dancing and music.

As the only ApHC ride to allow youth under the age of 12 to ride along, the Land of Liberty Family Trail Ride is the perfect option for an entire family to spend time together on horseback. Rates, which include meals, for the ride are:

· $310 for ApHC members

· $345 for non-members

· $250 for youths ages 12 to 18

· $195 for youths ages 6 to 11

· $25 for youths ages 5 and under

The base camp for the wagon-wheel-type ride is Cook Forest Scenic Trail Ride Dude Ranch, which offers a variety of accommodations, including cabins and campsites for RVs, available on a first-come first-serve basis. To make lodging reservations, please contact Cook Forest Scenic Trail Ride Dude Ranch, 814-856-2081 or http://www.patrailride.com.

Other recreational activities at the base camp sure to keep the family entertained include use of the recreation hall, jacuzzi, swimming pool, pool table, ping pong games and satellite television.

The ranch also offers cozy tie-stalls for horses, assigned based upon the order the stall reservations are received. They are $25/stall, payable upon arrival. To reserve tie-stalls, please contact ride manager Skip Seifert at 717.927.6480 or by e-mail at skipaleta@aol.com.

From base camp, riders will enjoy the Allegheny National Forest and its many cultural resources. Items of interest range from the Seneca Indians to Buckaloons, to the discovery of oil and its effects on development. Trails meander through Allegheny hardwoods, stands of mountain laurel, and wildlife.

The Land of Liberty Family Trail Ride promises to create memories to last a lifetime. To book your family vacation, contact the ApHC Trail Department at (208) 882-5578 ext. 221 or trailrides@appaloosa.com.
