Appaloosa Horse Club names 2008 Open Supreme Champion Appaloosas

MOSCOW, Idaho— The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) is proud to announce the 2008 Year-end Open Supreme Champion Appaloosas. To earn this prestigious title, an Appaloosa must have earned at least 100 points through the ApHC National Point System, with at least 40 points earned in halter classes and at least 60 points earned in performance classes in ApHC-approved events over the horse’s lifetime. In addition, an Appaloosa is required to earn at least one Register of Merit in four of the five categories of performance classes in order to demonstrate the versatility of the Appaloosa breed.

Izippoz Imaprince, owned by Karen L. Mamajek of Bethel Park, Pa.

Death Wish, owned by IB Stables of Noblesville, Ind.

Ima Touch DZ, owned by Debbie Sigler of St. Charles, Ill.

Mystic Marked Me, owned by James and Roberta Folgate of Dakota, Ill.

The owners of these four Appaloosas receive a custom designed award, and the horses will be honored at the 2008 Year-end Open/Non-Pro Award Banquet June 21 at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds in Jackson. The banquet will be held on the eve of 62nd National Appaloosa Show & 2009 World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show.

The ApHC has since registered more than 670,000 Appaloosas, which are known for their distinctive color, intelligence and even temperament. True to their reputation as an extremely versatile breed, Appaloosas can be found in nearly every discipline including racing, endurance riding and serving as reliable family horses. The international breed registry is headquartered in Moscow, Idaho, the heart of the Palouse region—the Appaloosa breed’s namesake and point of origin.
