Modern Arabian Horse Takes Top Honors at USEF Pegasus Awards for Media

AURORA, Colo.—Modern Arabian Horse, the official magazine of the Arabian Horse Association (AHA), was awarded the 2007 Pegasus Award for Media as Equine Publication of the Year (Affiliate) and the prestigious Daniel P. Lenehan Memorial Trophy for Overall Excellence in Media by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) during their 2008 Annual Meeting. The honors were presented by USEF President David O’Connor to AHA President Myron Krause on January 10 at the Louisville Downtown Marriott.

Modern Arabian Horse is the first Arabian horse publication to be awarded the Daniel P. Lenehan Memorial Trophy for Overall Media Excellence. This is also the magazine’s first Pegasus Award. The magazine was founded in 1979 and redesigned in April 2007.

The Modern Arabian Horse staff consists of: Jim Sullivan, General Manager & Manager of Advertising; Amy Train, Managing Editor; Dan Schwab, Design & Publications; Neil Sittler, Graphic Designer; and Elizabeth Bilotta, Graphic Designer.

“This is a tremendous honor and one that our staff is extremely proud of,” said Sullivan. “We accept these two awards on behalf of the AHA membership and our subscribers and advertisers who have supported us for so many years.”

“It is incredible to see all of our hard work during the past year not only appreciated and loved by our membership, but also recognized by some of the leaders in the equine industry.” Train added. “We are truly honored and will continue to produce a quality product that our members can be proud to be involved with and that all horse lovers can appreciate.”

Modern Arabian Horse currently serves as the official publication of the Arabian Horse Association. Modern Arabian Horse readers have a wide variety of interests with their Arabian horses including recreational riding, trail and endurance riding, racing, showing and breeding.
