Arenus partners with Texas A&M University to research the evaluation and treatment of lameness in horses

St. Louis, MO – June 12, 2008 - Arenus, dedicated to the optimal health, performance and longevity of companion animals, announced it will team with leading equine nutrition researchers at Texas A&M University to evaluate novel products with the potential to impact equine lameness issues.

“We are excited about this study and our partnership with Texas A&M,” said Jeremy Moore, Marketing Manager for Arenus. “Given the monetary and emotional investment owners have in their horses, keeping them sound is a top health concern.”

Dr. Josie Coverdale of Texas A&M concurred. “This project represents an important collaboration between Arenus and academia. We anticipate that this trial will yield valuable information that can benefit equine joint health, potentially lengthening the career of equine athletes.” Moore added, “Arenus’s culture values research, relationships, and results. We are proud to participate in research that will further add to our understanding of equine lameness.”

The project is anticipated to conclude in early to mid-summer, and is on a similar time schedule as Arenus’s graduate student sponsorship with the Saint Louis Zoo that is also investigating new pathways of enhancing the lives of equines.
