All Eyes on the Ariat Playoffs

Union City, Calif. September 4, 2008 – Ariat International, Inc. is pleased to announce the return of Ariat Playoffs to the Wrangler Pro Rodeo Tour. The Ariat Playoffs, the first of its kind in professional rodeo, has proven to be a popular and exciting format, entertaining the seasoned rodeo enthusiast while, at the same time, attracting new fans. Total prize money for the Ariat Playoffs is $1.62 million, making it the richest 16-performance payout in the PRCA in 2008, excluding the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. In addition to title sponsorship, Ariat is also the Official Boot of the Wrangler Pro Rodeo Tour.

“Ariat has a deep commitment to rodeo – the athletes and the fans,” says Beth Cross, president and CEO of Ariat International. “We started this company with a promise to the athlete – to develop the most innovative, performance footwear and apparel in the marketplace. We continue that pledge today and are proud to further our partnership with the sport of rodeo through our sponsorship of professional athletes and the development of this exciting playoff format.”

The progressive bracket style format has proven to be not only a hit with fans but also immensely popular with contestants. The athletes are energized by the renewed interest in the Tour. And, for wild card athletes, it means the opportunity to clinch a spot on the roster for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas – for some the opportunity of a lifetime.

The Ariat Playoffs kicked off in Caldwell, Idaho August 12-16, and will follow in Puyallup, Wash., September 5-7 and Omaha, Nebr., September 25-27. Upon completion of the Omaha Round of the Ariat Playoffs, the top 10 contestants in each event determined by cumulative prize money from the Tour regular season and the first three rounds of the Ariat Playoffs will advance to the Wrangler Pro Rodeo Tour Championship in Dallas, November 7-9.

Fox Sports Net (FSN) will televise the preliminary rounds with CBS televising the Championship in Dallas on Nov. 23, 2008 at 5 p.m. E.T. For more information on the Wrangler Pro Rodeo Tour visit http://www.ProRodeoTour.com.
