Ariat's Bach Ropes 4th World Title at National Finals Rodeo

Team of Athletes Makes Strong Showing Again This Year

Union City, CA – December 13, 2006 – 28-time NFR qualifier and Ariat Pro Rodeo Team member, Allen Bach, captured his fourth career team-roping championship at the 2006 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo this past weekend.

Ranked in fourth place with $74,272 as he entered the NFR, Bach steadily improved his standing through each go-round, capped off by the final round victory which earned him an NFR payday of $98,713 and total 2006 earnings of $172,986.

Bach, along with roping partner and fellow Ariat Pro Rodeo Team member, Chad Masters, won the lucrative average title at the final performance with a $41,088 paycheck. While that pushed Bach over the top for his fourth career title and first since 1995, it left Masters just $848 behind competing header, Matt Sherwood. Masters began the 10-day event ranked 15th in the world standings, but catapulted himself to second place with a top-notch performance.

In addition to Bach and Masters, Ariat’s 2006 Pro Rodeo Team included ESPN2 commentator, Jennifer Smith, and four other competitors who each made impressive efforts at this year’s NFR resulting in top rankings in the Pro Rodeo Cowboy World Standings.

* Travis Tryan – 3rd Team Roping (Header)

* Luke Branquino – 2nd Steer Wrestling

* Lee Graves – 6th Steer Wrestling

* Tammy Key – 11th Barrel Racing

As members of the Ariat Pro Rodeo Team, each athlete actively participates in the testing and development of new performance footwear products, wears the newest designs and styles before they hit the market, and is featured in Ariat’s national advertising campaigns. The Pro Rodeo Team members also act as spokespersons on the comfort, durability and stability of Ariat footwear. The Ariat Pro Rodeo Team has grown to become one of the premier athlete alliances in the sport.

“What an incredible thrill it is to watch these world class athletes compete at the highest level,” says Beth Cross, Ariat’s founder and chief executive officer. “Ariat salutes each Pro Rodeo Team member on their accomplishments this year, and we are looking forward to many more outstanding performances in the future.”
