Ariat Product Team Rounds Out Impressive

Union City, Calif. Nov. 13, 2008 – When they’re not creating the world’s most innovative equestrian footwear and apparel, there’s a good chance you’ll find Ariat employees out on the circuit competing in a variety of Western and English events. The 2008 season was a particularly successful one for these riders, who – gladly – bring their work home with them.

“We are proud to watch our colleagues excel in their respective competitions,” said Beth Cross, president and CEO of Ariat International. “And it’s fitting that these riders can utilize their personal experiences to develop the most advanced products to meet riders’ unique needs.”

Western Product Manager Shane Johnston recently qualified for the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) World Finals taking place in Tulsa, Okla., this month. She will compete against the sport’s top competitors for a shot at the World Champion title atop “SaveTheLastDanceForMe” (owner Reggie Crosby). Johnston exploded onto the barrel racing scene just last year, quickly going professional and finishing out her first season as the 2007 WPRA California Circuit Permit Champion with her horse “Smokes Sugar Bar.”

English Product Manager Holly Andrews-Kramer started her 2008 show season off with a bang, earning the HITS Arizona Winter Circuit Grand Champion title on “Time and Again” (owner Elena Canova) after accumulating an impressive amount of points in just two shows of the six-show circuit. Most recently, Andrews-Kramer and “Porsche” (owner Deborah Suppes) beat out a field of 55 competitors to win the highly-competitive Peninsula Equine Inc. Adult Amateur Hunter Classic at the Menlo Charity Horse Show in August.

Assistant Product Developer Danielle Cojuangco stormed the ring atop her horse “Kidit Saint Clair” to take first place at the $7500 Woodside Jumper Classic at the Woodside Spring Preview. Since then, Cojuangco, an active member of the Philippine National Equestrian Team and a team silver medalist in Show Jumping from the 2002 Asian Games, placed steadily at the Grand Prix and Amateur Owner Classic levels at shows such as Woodside Golden Gate Classic, Menlo Charity Horse Show and the Woodside Fall Finale. Most recently, she competed in this month’s Sacramento International Horse Show, taking first place in the Low Amateur Owner Jumper and sixth in the $2500 Low Amateur Owner Classic.

Apparel Product Developer Katherine Bechtel won the Norcal Senior Medal at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Championships earlier this month with her horse “Roman Spirit,” making her one of the first qualifiers of the year for the Norcal Medal Finals. Bechtel has been showing both her own horse and catch-riding others’ horses at such shows as the Pebble Beach Classics in July—where she took second in the Ariat National Adult Medal—and at the Menlo Charity Horse Show in August.

Assistant Western Product Manager Austin Condit, a team roper (number six header and heeler) and new member of the Ariat product team, has been competing regularly in United States Team Roping Championships (USTRC) ropings. Most recently, he roped at the American Cowboy Team Roping Association (ACTRA) Finals in Reno, and plans to rodeo next year with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) on his horses “Zacalena,” “Docs Colonel Wilson” and “Arrowood Oakie.”
