AYHC’s 30th Annual National Youth Horse Leaders Symposium Offers Stellar Lineup of Presenters

The American Youth Horse Council (AYHC) invites youth horse enthusiasts to join us in celebrating the 30th Annual National Youth Horse Leaders Symposium on March 9-11, 2007 in Denver, Colorado. The Symposium, held in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo, offers a unique opportunity for the youth horse industry to gather and celebrate connecting kids through horses and promises to provide education, inspiration, communication and motivation!
The opening session will feature a keynote from Jeff Goodwin of Colorado State University titled “Catch the Can Do Attitude”. Educational sessions range from “Building Rider Strength & Fitness” presented by Sandy Slocum of Mississippi State University and Sue Robinson of Murray State University to Karen Waite of Michigan State University presenting a session that will answer the question “What Type of Competitor are you?” Tom Lenz, DVM, representing the American Association of Equine Practitioners, will offer attendees his expertise on the important industry topic “The Unwanted Horse”, Susan Ralston, DVM of Merial with cover “The Health of the Traveling Horse” and Andy Dean, DVM will team up with Randel Raub of Purina to address “Health and Nutrition for the Older Equine.” The Keynote address at the Youth Leaders Celebration Awards Banquet will be given by Marvin Witt of the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo and Rick Lamb, radio host, will address symposium participants at the closing breakfast.

Roundtable discussions, a teen leader program, exhibit booths, silent auction, Youth Leaders Celebration Awards Banquet and pre-conference events including a tour of Colorado State Veterinary School and Equine Science Department and a Day at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo round out a fun-filled and educational weekend in Denver!
