Bainbridge Farm Wins Two Tricolors at Zada in Winter Equestrian Festival

Wellington, FL – March 6, 2007 – At last week’s Zada Enterprises LLC Wellington Masters, the sixth week of the 2007 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), Bainbridge Farm had a great showing. Lansing, owned by Richard Schechter and ridden by Rob Bielefeld, was the Pre-Green 3 & 4 Year Old Hunter champion, while Playtime, ridden by Jennifer Reid for Stacee Scott, was the reserve champion in the Adult Amateur 18-35 Hunters.

Playtime, an nine-year-old Warmblood gelding, is on lease and is currently for sale. He finished first, second, fourth and fourth in the ribbons with Reid, which gave him the reserve championship. Playtime is currently second in the standings for the WEF Circuit Championship in his division. Reid’s other mounts, Sweet Emotion and Jiminy Crickett II, are seventh and twelfth respectively on the list.

Lansing, a four-year-old, dark grey, Warmblood gelding, earned another championship this week in the Pre-Green 3 & 4 Year Old Hunters. Lansing won two over fences classes and was second in the under saddle class. The top finish this week puts Lansing currently in first place in his division for the WEF Circuit Championship.

As a young, large horse, Bielefeld noted that Lansing must stay in a rigorous schedule to keep him fit. "He’s a big horse that needs a lot of conditioning every single day. We’re working him every day, just flatting to keep him in shape. He’s still growing and gaining muscle," he explained.

In this week’s classes, Bielefeld was pleased with how Lansing improved in his over fences rounds. "He was great in this ring today," he related. "There was actually a little bit more jump to look at, which he likes. That got his attention. He actually looked and jumped really high and round and well."

Bainbridge Farm will compete this week at WEF in the CN Wellington Open, presented by Cosequin, on March 7-11, 2007.
