Bainbridge Farms Has Successful Trip North to Saratoga Classic Horse Show
Equestrian News Release
Saratoga Springs, NY- June 29- In her first trip to show up north, amateur rider Jennifer Reid, 22, of Wellington, FL, had a satisfying and successful show at the Saratoga Classic. Reid keeps her horses at Bainbridge Farms in Wellington, FL, which is owned by Richard Schechter, president of The Bainbridge Companies LLC.
Reid rode Jiminy Cricket, a 7 year old Selle Francais gelding by the famous jumper sire, Narcos. The pair won the Littlewood Adult Amateur Hunter championship and ribbons at the Winter Equestrian Festival this winter. Reid was eager to take the promising young horse to compete at shows with new competition in New York. In week one of the Saratoga Classic, they were fourth out of 31 in the Charles Owen Equitation Medal.
Week two at Saratoga picked up for the pair. Reid finished in second place in both the Charles Owen Adult Equitation Medal and the Ariat Adult Medal. Both classes had over 30 competitors, and Reid was “so pleased with the results.”
In the Adult Amateur 3’ Hunters, Jiminy Cricket finished first and third over fences against tough competition. The ribbons gave them the reserve championship. Jiminy Cricket also won the Low Hunter under saddle class. After the show, Reid remarked, “This horse is a machine! I’m so proud of him.”
Their first show at a new venue went well, and Reid hopes to repeat her performance when they travel to the Lake Placid Horse Show for two weeks of competition on June 29- July 3 and July 6-10.
