Official Barbaro Portraits to Benefit Thoroughbred Charities of America

Barbaro, winner of the Kentucky Derby whose shattered leg in the Preakness brought his stunning career to a halt has been captured beautifully by veterinarian-turned-artist John Fawcett. The two original portraits were commissioned by Roy and Gretchen Jackson, Barbaro’s owners, and fine art giclée reproductions are now available, thanks to Fine Print Imaging, which is donating all proceeds to the Thoroughbred Charities of America.

The archival reproductions are printed on canvas and fine art watercolor paper to capture the essence of the originals and may be purchased directly at http://barbaroprints.com/. “The Unbeaten Barbaro,” originally painted in oil, is available in limited editions in three sizes on canvas. “Barbaro,” an original watercolor, is available on watercolor paper and is an open, or unlimited edition. A small photographic print is also available.

Fine Print Imaging, one of the nation’s leading fine art printers has agreed to donate 100% of the proceeds to the Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA). The original paintings by John Fawcett will be auctioned at the TCA’s 17th Annual Stallion Season and Art Auction in December.

The TCA is the largest non-profit organization of the Thoroughbred industry. TCA's sole mission is to raise money for distribution to over 150 organizations in Thoroughbred rescue, retirement, retraining, research, education, backstretch and therapeutic riding programs. TCA has issued more than $12 million in grants over the past 16 years, to over 150 organizations in 35 states with the support of the Thoroughbred industry.
