WESTPORT, CT - September 24, 2008 - Beacon Hill's junior riders competing at the National Horse Show/Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament will be taking time out of their competition schedule to help raise funds for The EQUUS Foundation.
The EQUUS Foundation is holding its "Deal or No Deal" event at the Syracuse show on Friday, October 31, 2008 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Oncenter Ballroom. Hosted by Bates Saddles, the event will feature junior riders on the Bates list as the Deal or No Deal Suitcase Models.
"We are pleased to support this very worthy charity," said Stacia Madden, Beacon Hill's Owner and Head Trainer. Anna Becker, Sophie Benjamin, Tilden Brighton, Olivia Clancy, Carolyn Curcio, Annie Davidson, Christy DiStefano, Brian Feigus, Christina Lin, Jacqueline Lubrano, Chelsea Moss, Karen Polle, Rachel Roter and Jessica Springsteen have signed on as models so far.
The EQUUS Foundation is seeking more juniors to participate as models, as well as individuals and organizations to take a break from the competition to enjoy a reception, dinner, and an entertaining take-off on the well-known TV show featuring emcee Mason Phelps, Jr., National Horse Show Chairman. The contestants will be chosen from among the audience so everyone has a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000, or make a deal for great prizes.
Suitcase Sponsorships (Tables of six) are $1,000; Individual seats are $100 per adult; $50 per child 12 and under. Donations for event attendance are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Recognizing that competition for charitable dollars is fierce, The EQUUS Foundation sponsors entertaining events each year to give something back to donors who give so generously. The EQUUS Foundation, Inc. recently announced the award of over $300,000 to 50 charities involved in equestrian and equine activities. The awards were made possible almost entirely from event contributors.
