Beacon Hill Show Stables Continues Reign of Success at Winter Equestrian Festival

Wellington, FL – February 6, 2007 – Beacon Hill Show Stables enjoyed another victorious week of competition at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL, and impressive ribbons were presented to many of the students who ride with Frank and Stacia Madden. In addition to the Maddens, assistant trainers Max Amaya, Krista Freundlich, and Jennifer Griffiths also contribute to the show stables’ continuing success.

Catherine Pasmore had an exceptional week and won the ASPCA Maclay on her equitation horse Let’s Go M. In addition, Pasmore tied for the reserve championship in the Low Junior Jumpers with her horses, Hadden House Carlson and Ella, after winning a class with each horse.

"Catherine had a great week," commented Freundlich, "and it was especially nice to see her do so well with her new jumpers that she doesn’t have a lot of experience with. It’s also so exciting that she qualified for the Ronnie Mutch [Equitation Championship] early in the circuit."

Nicole Lakin also received recognition when she earned third place in the Low Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic on Opus Sept, as well as second and third in the Adult Amateur 18-35 Hunters aboard Wedgewood.

Eleanor Bright piloted her horse Rosey to third and ninth place in the Seniors Jumper division, and Beacon Hill captured ribbons in the Children’s 14-17 Jumpers after Laura King-Kaplan took second with Harlem de Mescam, and Karen Polle finished third aboard Valfee des Hazalles. Mackenzie Keck and AK Mickey also finished in seventh in NAL Children’s Jumper Classic.

In the Internationale Arena, Brianne Goutal finished in seventh with Onira as the fastest four faulter in the Nutrena XTN Grand Prix of Palm Beach CSI 2*, presented by Western Hay.

"I think it is fantastic that, at such a young age, she was able to get a great ribbon against this stellar group of international riders," related Amaya after the grand prix. "Hopefully it is the beginning of a great circuit for Brianne."

In the hunter ring, Alexis Healey showed Serendipity for the very first time and took home second, third, fifth, and sixth in Low Adult Hunters. Mary Anne Minor, Beacon Hill’s barn manager who rarely has time to show, received second place in the Adult Amateur 51 and Over Hunters with John Courage.

Jessica Springsteen continued to showcase Sublime in the Small Junior 15 and Under Hunters and, after winning two firsts and a second this week and the division tricolor last week, came away with the reserve championship. She also rode La Movida to seventh in the Low Junior Jumper classic after catching one time fault in the first round, and the young rider finished fifth overall in the WIHS equitation and fourth in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search on her new horse Papillion 136.

Jacqueline Lubrano was presented the reserve championship after winning two firsts this week on Lucky Joe in the Large Junior 15 and Under Hunters. She also topped the charts for first in the WIHS Jumper Phase and finished second overall in the WIHS equitation with her horse LB Carte Noir. In addition, Carolyn Curcio placed second in the WIHS Hunter Phase on Valvert with an impressive score of 94.

In the pony ring, Olivia Fass earned the tricolor for the second week in a row in the Children’s Large Pony Hunters with Brighton Day Glo, owned by Horizon Hill Farm.

Beacon Hill Show Stables will compete again next week during the Winter Equestrian Festival at the Palm Beach Equine Clinic/Adequan Gold Coast Jumper Classic, presented by bluhammock music.
