Beacon Hill Show Stables Tops the Charts at Winter Equestrian Festival

Wellington, FL – January 29, 2007 – Students at Beacon Hill Show Stables have returned to the show ring at the top of their game this season. After taking a few months off, the Beacon Hill entourage is back in full force and amassed numerous championships last week at the Winter Equestrian Festival’s Inaugural Horse Show.

Located in Colts Neck, New Jersey, Beacon Hill Show Stables is owned and managed by head trainers Frank and Stacia Madden. The program also includes Max Amaya, Krista Freundlich, and Jennifer Griffiths as assistant trainers.

“Frank and I feel that much of the work we did in 2006 putting quality horses with our riders has started to pay off in 2007,” commented Stacia Madden. “We are especially happy with our barn’s good showing this week, considering all the big changes in the circuit this year. The first week can be a great way to get the confidence ball rolling with our riders, staff, and entire team.”

To kick off Beacon Hill’s winning streak, 18-year-old Brianne Goutal and Mon Gamin topped the leader board in the 1.40m Acorn Hill Farm Challenge, which is part of the NAL Open Speed Series. Out of 43 starters, Goutal’s mount, owned by Cloverleaf Farm, proved to be unbeatable and led the victory gallop on Friday in the Internationale Arena.

In jumper division highlights, I Love Lucy and Karen Polle captured third place in the Children’s Jumper 15-17 class, Opus Sept and Nicole Lakin finished in tenth in the Low Amateur/Owner Jumper Classic, and Eleanor Bright piloted her horse Rosey to ninth in the $10,000 Seniors Classic.

Beacon Hill students rode well in the hunter ring, and Jacqueline Lubrano was presented with the reserve championship in the Large Junior 15 and Under Hunters for her great rides aboard Lucky Joe. In the Small Junior 15 and Under Hunters, Jessica Springsteen consistently earned high placings and the championship tricolor with Sublime, owned by Stone Hill Farms.

Springsteen continued her winning ways in the ASPCA Maclay in her first show with her new horse, Papillon 136. After earning the blue ribbon in the Maclay, she was also awarded top honors in the USEF Medal, captured second in the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) Jumper Phase, and third in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search.

Maria Schaub also competed with a new horse, I Toon, and experienced similar success. Schaub won first place in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search and won the ASPCA Maclay for section “B.” Elizabeth Lubrano rode to second place in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search with her horse Golou II, and Jacqueline Lubrano earned second place in the WIHS Overall results after her stellar performance with LB Carte Noir. Also on the WIHS Overall standings was Laura King-Kaplan, who finished in fifth.

In addition, Olivia Fass took home the championship with Resorte Z in the Children’s Hunter Horse 15-17 division, and she also showed Brighton Day Glo in the Large Children’s Pony Hunters and added another championship tricolor to her collection. Vikki Marracini rode Joli Cake in the pair’s first show together and was the Low Adult Hunter Reserve Champion, and Madelyn Keck kept the blue ribbons coming after winning the Small/Medium Children’s Pony Class aboard My Daddy’s Jag.

Beacon Hill Show Stables will compete next week at the Nutrena/Western Hay Wellington Classic with their string of championship horses and riders.
