St Publishing Releases "Best of the Saratoga Special" Book for All Thoroughbred Racing Fans

FAIR HILL, Md. -- After five years of daily newspapers at Saratoga, ST
Publishing this week released the book form of The Saratoga Special.

"The Best of the Saratoga Special" is a 287-page, hard-cover book featuring
the best writing and photography from the daily newspaper The Saratoga
Special. Launched by ST Publishing in 2001, The Special quickly became a
fixture for horsemen and fans of Thoroughbred racing's greatest meet -- the
six-week summer session at the famed Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga
Springs, N.Y.

Readers will get a glimpse of Saratoga, and a taste of the newspaper,
through the writing of Sean and Joe Clancy and the others at The Special
plus visually stunning photography of Tod Marks, Dave Harmon, Barbara
Livingston and others. Highlights include exclusive articles on Hall of Fame
trainer Allen Jerkens, leading jockey John Velazquez, Hall of Fame trainer
Bobby Frankel, legendary horseman John Nerud, Hall of Fame jockey Pat Day
and others. Readers will also follow horses such as Funny Cide, Empire
Maker, Smarty Jones, Lost In The Fog, Azeri, Afleet Alex and other equines
famous and not so famous.

"We started The Special because we cared about racing, and cared about
Saratoga," said Sean Clancy, a co-founder of ST Publishing with his brother
Joe. "The book extends the feel of the newspaper, gives it life and will
reach out to people in a different way. If you've read the newspaper, you
will love the book. If you've never read the newspaper, the book will make
you go to the newsstand."

The book, which sells for $25, is available through ST Publishing by calling
(410) 392-5867, at various bookstores in and around Saratoga, or through
equine book specialists. Online ordering will soon be available at
http://www.st-publishing.com. Media and wholesale inquiries can be directed to ST
Publishing via telephone or e-mail to orders@st-publishing.com.

ST Publishing, created in 1994, is owned and managed by brothers Joe and
Sean Clancy. In addition to The Saratoga Special, ST produces the
Steeplechase/Eventing Times and The Special at Keeneland newspapers. Other
company products include the Thoroughbred Racing Calendar, graphic design
work, writing and public relations consulting for various clients including
West Point Thoroughbreds, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin and the National
Steeplechase Association. "The Best of The Saratoga Special" is ST's second
book after Saratoga Days in 2000.
